Description
John Ball Zoo is more than just a zoo. It is an organization focused on conservation, education, sustainability, and community building.
Conservation:
Conservation education is at the core of the Zoo’s mission and we strive to provide opportunities for our guests and partners to grow their knowledge, appreciation, and support of wildlife conservation.
For 30 years, the John Ball Zoo has supported projects protecting wildlife and habitats around the world. In the last 5 years alone, it’s helped conserve species in 8 countries across 4 continents—many focused on education and lesser-known animals like endangered reptiles and amphibians.
Education:
Our programs are designed using fun, hands-on and flexible teaching methods for students ages three through adulthood.
At John Ball Zoo, our goal is to teach our guests about wildlife conservation and the importance of restoring and protecting natural ecosystems. We offer onsite programs that help school-aged children spark their interest in wildlife conservation with lessons and activities that are rooted in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
John Ball Zoo is also a top venue in West Michigan. Offering unique and beautiful spaces to host weddings, community and corporate events, birthdays, and more!
