Thompson M-TEC Career and Corporate Training

Thompson M-TEC is a specialized educational and business training center based in Holland, Michigan, providing flexible career development and corporate workforce training. It is operated in partnership with the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) and Grand Rapids Community College.

Description

Thompson M-TEC, a service of Ottawa Area ISD, has been a trusted resource for education since 2000. We provide flexible, customizable education and business training to strengthen our local workforce and economy at our facility or yours and support individual learners and businesses. Thompson M-TEC offers industry-relevant training in manufacturing, healthcare, technology, skilled trades and leadership development, certification testing and career assessments to strengthen job performance and career growth. Our offerings continuously evolve to meet industry needs to equip learners with the tools for career success.

The mission of Ottawa Area ISD's Thompson M-TEC is to help employers and individual learners improve job performance and results through services including training, assessment, best practice information, career development, and learner support. We continually evaluate, update, and improve our product and service mix based on customer, industry, and educational data.

Programs of Study

Thompson M-TEC designs its curriculum to meet the needs of adult learners and the regional business community. Its training programs include:

  • Skilled Trades & Manufacturing: Hands-on instruction in welding, robotics, and residential/commercial trades.

  • Health Sciences: Certification courses including dental radiography and foundational medical training.

  • Office, IT & Technology: Business management, office software, and professional development training.

  • Corporate Training: Customizable, on-site or off-site training modules tailored to specific business needs.

Online Courses

A variety of self-paced and instructor-led courses are available online allowing students to choose how they learn.

Certification Training Programs through ed2go

Thompson M-TEC, in partnership with ed2go, offers online open enrollment programs designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional level positions for many in-demand occupations. 

Certificate Programs are offered in the following categories: 

Instructor-led Online Courses 

Six-week online courses for professional development or personal enrichment are available. These courses are the perfect way to learn a new skill or enhance your existing ones. You'll spend roughly two to four hours each week completing two engaging lessons in an enjoyable, interactive learning environment. New sessions start every month, so you can sign up anytime. Upon completing a course with a passing score, you'll get a certificate of completion from Thompson M-TEC.
