✨ Discover Where Grand Rapids Makes Things
On the first Friday of every month (4–7 PM), Grand River Makerspace opens its doors for a free, casual open house and tour night. Whether you’re curious about laser engraving, 3D printing, woodworking, textiles, or just love seeing how things are made — this is your chance to explore!
What to Expect:
Self-guided and guided tours throughout the evening
Live demonstrations of tools like lasers, 3D printers, and vinyl cutters
Meet members and volunteers who make up our creative community
Learn how memberships and workshops work
Ask questions, share project ideas, or just hang out and be inspired
Cost: Free
Who It’s For:
Makers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, hobbyists — and anyone who’s ever thought, “I’d love to learn how to make that.” All ages welcome (under 18 should attend with an adult).
Accessibility:
The event is mostly conversational and walking-based, with step-free access. Ear/eye protection available for demo areas.

Inviting High School Girls to the GET-IT Connection Summit at Western Michigan University!
Join us for an inspiring day where accomplished women in tech inspire students by showing them that they belong in tech, that their curiosity today will help them innovate tomorrow, and will empower them to succeed.
What to expect at the summit:
Inclusive Design Workshop: Hands-on activity showing how tech
can be designed for accessibility and diversity
Learn how to stay safe online and explore careers in cybersecurity
Prepare for college and jumpstart your tech career
Connect with leading female tech execs and be inspired
The summit includes a light breakfast and boxed lunch for all participants!

Educators and parents must sign their students up by emailing Program Manager, Nitza Harpe, at nitza.harpe@mcwt.org before Friday, February 20, 2026.
Schools with 20 or more students are eligible to request transportation assistance if required.

STEAM Night in East Grand Rapids
East Grand Public Schools will be hosting its first annual STEAM Night on March 18, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at East Grand Rapids High School. The event aims to showcase STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning across the district while engaging the broader community in exploring and supporting these fields.
The event will feature:
· Student projects and exhibits from grades 7–12, highlighting innovative work both in and outside the classroom
· Interactive displays and hands-on activities for attendees of all ages
· Booths and demonstrations hosted by local scientists, STEAM professionals, and university faculty
We are anticipating over 200 students and their families from elementary through high school to attend.

MCWT 2026-2027 Scholarships
With your help, MCWT encourages female, high school seniors and undergraduate/graduate college students pursuing technology-focused degrees to apply for the 2026-2027 Scholarship program.
REQUIREMENTS
United States citizen.
Current Michigan resident.
Female students with a GPA of 2.75 or better.
Enrolled (or will be enrolled) full-time in a Michigan college, community college, or university.
Must be pursuing a tech-related degree for the 2026-27 academic year.
We accept a wide range of majors, including but not limited to:

Digital Forensics
Computer Science
Information Systems
Artificial Intelligence
Software Engineering
Computer Information Systems

Girls Who Code Pathways
Girls Who Code’s free, virtual summer program, Pathways, is an opportunity for high school girls and non-binary students - including rising 9th graders, graduating seniors, and returning participants - to explore AI, Game Design, Cybersecurity, and Data Science while building meaningful, tech-for-good projects at their own pace. Participants will learn through videos and hands-on activities and connect with industry mentors and a global community on Discord.
Program Dates: June 29 to August 14, 2026
Application Deadlines: Apply by February 25 for priority consideration or by April 10 for the final deadline.
